Mawusi
2007
Renewed
In the Hand of God
Mawusi,
in Ewe, a language from Ghana and Togo, means “in the hand of God.”
For the fifty plus Black Catholics, pastors and associate pastors
who attended this retreat we were truly in the hand of God.
There were ten Black parishes from Vicariate VI and one from
Vicariate III represented. Those
who attended included youth ministers, catechists, and pastoral
associates, lay ministers, musicians, volunteers and many Augustus Tolton
Pastoral Ministry Program Alumni and Scholars.
The weekend was very spiritual and relaxing.
The
retreat facilitator was the dynamic Therese Wilson-Favors, Director of the
office of African American Catholic Ministries for the Archdiocese of
Baltimore.
She spoke of the Transporting, Transmitting and Transforming Power
of Prayer in our daily lives. To quote her, “God’s grace keeps pace
with whatever we face.”
We were provided with some very thought provoking questions and
some practical tools to use and share with our respective Church
communities.
If you were unable to attend this year, plan to join us next year,
same time, same place.
July 25-27, 2008 at Techny Towers.
Remain in the hand of God.
