We welcome your application for the Chicago Catholic Scripture School (CCSS). No particular educational or Bible background is needed to join our classes. However, we do ask students to commit to the program for at least two years.
To apply you do three things:
Complete the Application for Basic Biblical Studies.
Submit a letter of recommendation from a pastor, associate pastor, or a member of the pastoral staff of the parish where you are registered. The letter may be sent with the application or mailed/emailed directly to CCSS.
Participate in a telephone interview with the CCSS Coordinator, Brigid Wolff.
When we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule the telephone interview. Because the CCSS curriculum builds your knowledge of Scripture year-by-year, a student can only join the program at the beginning. It is therefore not possible to replace students who drop out. In some instances students may join the program in its second year when specific arrangements are made with the CCSS Coordinator.
The purpose of the interview is to help you understand what CCSS offers and what it requires, so that you will have the information you need to make the initial two-year commitment to the program and ultimately to successfully complete it.
Please apply as early as possible so you will be able to read your summer reading before you begin class.
Please send the application and recommendation letter to:
