Mission of the Chicago Catholic Scripture School Minimize

The Chicago Catholic Scripture School serves the Archdiocese of Chicago as a center for comprehensive formation in the area of Scripture for:

Deacons, parish catechetical leaders, catechists, RCIA leaders, pastoral associates, youth ministers, parish Bible study leaders, lectors, and other persons who work with Scripture in their various parish ministries; and ...

Any adult Catholic who wants a more in-depth understanding of Scripture in the Catholic tradition for faith development, a deeper prayer life, and ministering to family and community. The CCSS accepts students of all academic backgrounds. The program is designed to welcome students of every educational background.

The Chicago Catholic Scripture School reflects the diversity of our Archdiocese and offers classes in English, Spanish, and Polish. No matter what language our student's use, each gets the same high quality of instruction and care. Juan Carlos Farias-Gonzalez coordinates the Escuela Biblica Catolica.

For more information about scripture studies in Spanish click here.

For more information about the Scritpure School in Polish contact Brigid Wolff for English language and Jacek Chaba for Polish language. Brigid can be reached at bwolff@archchicago.org or 312-534-8053. Jacek is available at jchaba@archchicago.org or 312-534-8030.

Our goal is to help bring all students into closer relationship with God's revealed word so that the power of the word, and their response to it, might in some way transform their lives.

In support of that goal, we study and pray the ancient texts of Scripture guided by the rich resources of Catholic biblical scholarship and Church guidance on the interpretation of Scripture.
