November 10 & 11, 2007
This is an
annual celebration during November to coincide with celebrations of Bible Sunday throughout the U.S. Of
course, a parish could host its own Bible Sunday on a weekend that best suits their needs.
This event is an initiative of the Office for Catechesis and the Office of
Divine Worship. Cardinal Francis George and his council of Vicars endorsed this initiative
at their September, 2003, meeting.
Resources listed at the left provide a
variety of ideas to use in parishes, as well as a sample blessing for Bibles at weekend
liturgies, a model for praying with Scripture that can be included in weekly bulletins for
parishioners, and a model for opening and closing prayer at parish organization meetings.
